My Theory on Niles in the Gears 5 Story (Speculate with me!)

I don’t know the extent to which this has been discussed on this subreddit but this is what i think is the Reason that he is voicing the leader of the swarm.

Being that the swarm are a hivemind, they have to have a leader or a head of the hivemind. Of course we all know how it’s very possible Niles Samson had created the original locust (sires) at the New Hope Facility. And it is also teased that we will be returning to Mount Kadar so obviously he will be involved in the campaign somehow.

My speculation is that being that Myrrah was at a time most likely involved in the New Hope and Mount Kadar fiasco (whether as a participant or a patient) and we pretty solidly can assume that Kait is Myrrahs granddaughter. So that being true, that is why Reyna is tracked down by the Swarm and why Kait is most presumably going to be tracked down as well, all masterminded by Niles.

My theory is that once the Immulsion counter measure “killed” the locust, Niles eventually tried to find a way to reestablish the locust horde (his “children”), and did so through the swarm.

Exactly why he hates humanity isn’t quite clear but judging from the post match voice clips it seems that he definitely does.
