Is Basic Economics By Thomas Sowell a good book?

I am thinking of buying Basic Economics and a few other books to educate myself in libertarian and free market economics, espcially with the rise of political charlatans and their ideas like Andrew Yang, AOC, and Bernie Sanders.

So, is Basic Economics a good book for understanding why free market economics is good, or at least a book that explains it well?
