Strategy behind not opening packs

Discussion

Is there any legitimate reason to not open booster packs at this time?

Yes if you want to draft. Because draft doesnt have duplicate protection,if you pick 5th copy of a rare you will get gems instead. But i still open packs because i'm a bit impatient and i dont play much limited anyways.

Me too. I just really like opening than. As a side note, I am trying to get gems enough for the mastery track as a f2p. So the gems in place of the extra rare are bad but not downright awful.

Opening packs has duplicate protection while getting cards from limited does not. IE: If you have 4 copies of a card, you will not open a 5th copy from a pack but you might open one in limited. If you do open it in limited, you'll probably want to take it for your deck and you'll only get gems at the end.

The idea is that you do keep doing limited until you have the majority of the rares, and then each pack is guaranteed to give you a card you don't have 4 copies of yet.
