Train to Busan was rubbish. I watched it today and didn’t like it at all.

I’ve been wanting to watch this film since I first saw the trailer before release and it’s consistently had a huge amount of hype/praise on Reddit. I finally bought it on DVD and watched it today but I came away wishing I’d never spent money on it.

I’m a massive fan of zombie films, horror films and foreign cinema, a lot of my favourite horror films are foreign (to me, British). I just didn’t like it. I didn’t care about any of the characters and wasn’t bothered whether they survived or not. None of them were that likeable which made any sort of emotion trying to be portrayed come across as forced. I left the film feeling frustrated/angry like there was something missing.

I will say that the acting during the transformation from human to zombie was quite good (the jerkiness and strength) but that was about all.
With the majority of the film being on a moving train, I was really hoping for a claustrophobic horror with some connection between the characters due to them being trapped together.

Did anyone else feel let down, or is this truly an unpopular opinion?
