I wish AoV had more creative skins/forms.

Discussion

I feel like majority of the skins are recolored skins with different details and abilities added to them.

Using Lauriel as an example, I understand that she is an angel, but I don’t think she needs wings in all of her skins. By always including some sort of wings in her skins, it limits creative options for her.

The skin based on China myth/film. Vietnamese and Chine have watched this skin on TV every day. And TW, VN players will like/buy it. So tf Tencent must care what you think? Lol.

Creativity is one thing but skins gotta retain some kind of visual to indicate what you're playing against so people do not forget by mistake. This is usually done through weapon + character gender but in most mages case, they just fly around and fight so you don't really have that benefit.

Shouldn’t you know which character you’re playing against based on their abilities?

Not to mention, it says the characters name underneath the username before every match.

You should, but in the midst of a chaotic fight, you do sometime forget. It's like watching someone in a bikini and expecting them to be squishy but they end up building tank because reasons.

This is why even when themed, they keep skins looking as different as possible and making sure each character have something unique about them. Visual information is very important to prevent unnecessary mistakes from happening.

Easy example of a mistake I recently made is the new blue skin on Murad. Saw it on a test server video gameplay of whatever is coming out soon appearing as a teammate. I didn't know really know who the skin belong too when I saw it. I didn't watch the loading screen because I left it up while alt tabbing. It had a long blade and it was blue. Those were Quillen's characteristic. I assumed it was Quillen. It was Murad. That's the power of visual information not to just the players but also the observers as well.

Edit: IF you want another example, look at the new Magma Butterfly skin. The waist rock stretched out like Astrid's Skirt which is iconic to her looks and has always been present . It's only because a Butterfly main friend of mine pointed out that her pose is that of Butterfly and that Zane later has a vid with her name at the bottom that confirms it's Butterfly for me.

I get u, but wings is the first thing we think about Lauriel, Violet with double guns,...

Disagree. They will always keep characteristics to show which you are playing. If they change the core material they may as well as just create a new hero. It is waste of resources.

Vio will have double guns and scarf of some kind in all of her skins.

umm no. i want my lauriel to have wings and that doesnt limit the characters creative form or whatever you wanna call it. i agree with the people above its just an indication of which is which y know.

also theres a lot of new upcoming skins so i dont really get the point of ranting about it imho
