I tried using these sticks and they’re great for paddle down but really really hard to shoot the puck with.

i love playing the puck and shooting it up the ice and im pretty good at it, and shooting with this stick is very difficult. near impossible but i can still do it

The Curtis Curve. The handle is weirdly shaped to let your blocker fit better on paddle down saves and the shaft curves at the end so you can easily pick it up if it drops (also lets you hold on a bit better on poke checks). I used them as a kid a bit then bought one a few years ago from a friend who never played goalie so it hardly ever got used. It broke pretty quickly, which I guess is expected from a stick that was almost twenty years old. If someone made a modern one I’d probably buy a few and mess around with it again, but it’s probably more a gimmick than anything real.

You need to get connected to a guy I play beer league with. This goalie has a new setup each game all vintage stuff within reason. So many pillow pads it's not even funny.

Oh man, I had one of these when I was 7 or 8. I have fond memories of how that paddle splintered.

by full set i mean pads, glove/blocker, stick, and mask (helmet and cage). i would do chesty and everything else, but i dont want to die. im considering getting a replica fiberglass face mask as well, but we’ll see. and, i have a gopro, which means i’ll be posting footage of me (attempting) to play in the gear.
How vintage are you talking? All the way back to old school leathers? I still have my pads and gloves from when I quit back in '88. I wore them again for a beer league season in '99 then didn't play again until '12 and wore them once or twice before getting a newer set.
all the way back to old leather. brown leather pads with the toe buckles, waffle blocker, old cooper glove that looks like a baseball mitt... you know
