People believing that the MAX version which is exactly the same board but with an extra 16mb for bios is going to magically solve their problems is beyond me. These boards will have the same BIOSes (one without gui, the other with gui).

Any problems on one board will be the same on the other but with prettier interface.

I installed my Tomahawk MAX board yesterday, and I've had no problems whatsoever.

Does b450 tomahawk have long post as well?

I'm not too well read up about all the different mobos. Still struggling to find which one I want to get.

The latest bios version introduced long posting times for a lot of users. Some like me are unable to post at all. Some people have said that the latest bios has enabled them to post. Some not at all. Some have said that their computer was booting fine for a week, then suddenly crashed and couldn't post.

I ordered an aorus x570 elite today and i am not going to deal with MSI anymore. At least my 3700x will be able to post every time and won't have to wonder what is going to happen tomorrow

Yeah this is the best idea, annoying that only MSI has flashback on B450 boards.

Ugh, sounds like a lot of hassle indeed. Maybe I'll just grab a b450 / x470 / x570 of gigabyte instead. They seem to do very well this time around with mobos, good updates and good showing on r/amd with I think it was Mikey?

what's the BIOS start up time shown in task manager for the aorus x570 elite?

IMScientist•

I have the b450 tomahawk , ryzen 3600 takes like 5 sec to get to windows

Strange. I guess it depends from person to person then.

My bios time in taskmanager is 19.3 seconds. Still running v18 with no problems.

Mine takes ~15 seconds to POST, at this point I'm just happy it posts at all. 3700X btw

Honestly. It did solve all my problems. Installed the board about 5 hours ago and did a couple of benchmarks and played around with it before I left for work

Sure you got a motherboard that works. But lots of the non-max versions work as well. For some reason(s) lots of others were not working. Lets see what the failure rate is going to be with MAX. I am not taking any chances with this brand anymore, i have a 2080Ti connected to my machine and it is also used for work. I can't afford anything going wrong.

Sounds like the user didn't switch back to UEFI mode after updating the BIOS. It defaults to CSM mode.

This is actually a problem for me on the B450 gaming pro carbon too as of V18
