Grant claim to a puppet

So I've got kind of a head scratcher of a question, can you grant a state to a puppet if they have a claim on it? As Germany I diplo annexed the Czechs but wound up with Carpathian Romania, which my puppet Hungary has a claim on. Under the occupied territory tab I did grant them Southern Slovakia but the menu is silent on the claim. Is there a way to give it to them, or am I stuck with it?
