Unsecured load of loose planks and bricks about to drive up an incline.... Fair to say I gave a *large* cars length gap

I bet they are strapped on the side. My state requires two wraps and one toggle. The is a lesson in the coefficient of friction. It's probably high enough in long planks to prevent sliding. The law only knows the rules.
Well good luck with that. It's a triangle btw (inc. your state's two straps) with the planks on top. Friction is a thing but if the initial inertia is point is passed then you get momentum, planks were loose and moving. Maybe you're right and that wouldn't have fallen but anything that size that literally bounces around, looks pretty unsafe.
But I've found my favourite ever quote: "The law only knows the rules."
ps. Static friction and Dynamic (kinetic) friction are different. Immobile planks are a hell of a lot less likely to slide compared to planks that jump higher than Charles Austin. But you can have this one pal. Enjoy the internet points :-*
Is this Final destination?
Certainly felt like it!
I seriously doubt they are unstrapped, or you would have provided a picture that actually shows the side where the straps would be.
Girlfriend took the picture, hence on the left hand side of the vehicle and lack of steering wheel / instruments, also providing a picture of the side from behind the truck would be more impressive than the picture itself.
And yes there was a single strap to the side just behind the cabin but the way the planks moved around looked about as secure as a 0 hour contact.
Impressive dichotomy of my quick snap, of a worrying load. Good job ;)
