Paint turned out pretty good considering it came from a can! Bumpers getting powdercoated, new wheels and tires and a windshield is all that’s left!

30 cans of rustoleum metallic blue, 20 cans of spray max 2k clear. I did do all the door jams, under the hood, tailgate etc so it ate up tons of paint. Turned out pretty good for my first paint job, in a dirty garage with spray cans. It needs a wet sand and a hell of a polish but I’m waiting for a few more weeks before I do that.
I couldn’t run a large enough compressor in my garage without upgrading the panel in my house first. I decided I didn’t want to wait. Next time I will use a gun as it’s super hard to lay paint evenly over the larger panels. I may re do the hood eventually as it shows some tiger striping.
Taco? Motor swap?
It’s a 1991 pickup sr5 4wd.
I swapped in a 93 Lexus 1uzfe v8 awhile back, that’s why the rad is so exposed. Also why I have hood pins as there was no more room for the latch.
A nitrogen tank is the way to go.
Spray paint from a can
It was put there by a man
In a factory downtown...
Looks great! I’ve painted with my HVLP gun off my 110v 30 gallon compressor before. Not a whole vehicle but some decent size projects without any issues.
This looks so cool. Also reminds me of a road hog from rocket league
I love every bit of this. Nice work. I’m a big big fan of cheap paint options. The internet and forums will have you believe that unless you have 3 weeks of free time and $1200 of equipment it’s going to come out terrible. Sure spray cans and DIY jobs aren’t SEMA winners but that’s not the point.
Truck looks fantastic and you should be super proud
