An idea regarding "true endings"

Maker Discussion

So this might come of as stupid, but I just thought of an idea regarding levels with a "true ending".

If you made it so that the player could take the true ending path and right at the end they could kill themselves on spikes. This would make a failure point right at the end and you as both another player and maker could see how many players took that path.

The stupid part of this is of course "who cares" and "but then you'd have to complete the level twice". I am kind of tired as I'm writing this so maybe it's just all stupid.

That doesn't even work. When the level maker views the failure points, they just see the final point where a player died and quit. If they go on to win, they don't leave a mark in that view.
