Is this game worth buying again?

I've got the game on pc and absolutely love it, I've recently bought myself a switch console and was thinking about buying it again but all I've heard about the switch version is that it's full of bugs, so I was wondering how many of them bus have been smoothed out? Is it enough that it'll be worth buying again?

Personally, I wouldn't. I could kinda overlook all the glitches, bugs, slowdowns, crashes, and missing content because I was so damn excited for the game and was waiting over a year for it. It was a lot of fun, but it has a lot of issues.

I think if I came from pc to the Switch version, the poor performance would just be glaringly obvious and totally aggravate me.

I play on switch and I have encountered MANY bugs. I regret the purchase. I should of bought it on PC. That being said, I do really enjoy the game. But the bugs and glitches get really annoying.

What sort of bugs so you actually get?

Omg so many. Here’s a few I can remember POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

  1. Game crashes occasionally at random times often causing me to lose a full days work.

  2. Couldn’t join the land run in year one. Game crashed every time I tried to register.

  3. Couldn’t get the chest on one side of the Portia City wall because the stone that’s there for PC players isn’t there for switch. Had to wait until I got the SPOILER flying robo pig mount to get up there just for ONE BLOODSTONE. Silly thing to get when at end game. Wasn’t worth the wait.

  4. Sometimes play dates wouldn’t show up and then would get mad that I stood them up when it was in fact, THEM who stood me up.

  5. Seen multiple character walk through the water or through walls.

  6. SPOILER When you fight Ursula and the two guys and then the Rouge Knight showed up, the game crashed twice in a row before I was able to do it without it crashing.

  7. When Mali returned to Portia City with a few guards they all were glitched out. They all were standing on top of each other outside their plane and never moved until the day they finally left the city. ALSO during this time you can find Sam standing outside Portia near the plane and she glitched too. She’s been standing there ever since and I can’t figure out how to fix it. It’s been in game months and she’s still there. Never goes to sleep, never goes to the restaurant, never shows up for play dates and can not get her to ride my horse with me. She’s stuck there forever.

There were several others but I can’t quite remember them all now. Like I said, I still love the game. It’s just annoying when all this stuff happened. And I’m only in year 3.

Can confirm this. I played on PC but my boyfriend on switch. Firstly it took a long time until the switch version had the same functions as the PC Version. Updates took longer. The loading time is awful! And the crashing is the worst. Watching my boyfriend playing some days over and over again made me glad I decided to play on PC.

Did Sam get stuck on your game too?! I can’t figure out what to do. I tried setting up a play date close by her but it’s still too far to reach. I can’t get her unstuck.

The switch version is tons of fun! I personally have not encountered any bugs while others have. However there was a big patch a couple months ago that fixed a lot of bugs, such as giant crop harvesting glitch, along with adding in a bunch of content.

That said the switch version is still behind pc in terms of content BUT the devs are planning to add the stuff in theres just no set date for it yet.

Tdlr good port if you're willing to wait for additional free content later on

I have had the switch version since day 1, and i haven't had any of the bugs other people are talking about either. not a single crash, no issues participating in any events, no trouble with dates, nothing. i get the long load time when you first turn the game on, and some of the lag chopping trees but that is it. no game breaking bugs to be found anywhere in my roughly 150 hours of time spent on my switch

Buy or stay on pc. It’s didn’t port to other platforms as well as Stardew Valley.

I bought it for my gf on Switch (in the end...it was me playing it there)...while I'm playing the game on PC since late alpha...and I stopped playing it after two hours on Switch and never touched it again. Not sure, if it is worth buying in the current state...esp. as I also consider it being quite confusing, when you know...you can buy stuff @Sophies or @Mars and you need to search for an alternative solution on Switch, because the game misses this part of the content...

I’m on Xbox so someone with a Switch would have to confirm.

SPOILER?

You have to build a bridge to reach the desert. If you aren’t prepared, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll miss most of the commissions for it and Higgins will get them. (I only managed to get one piece of the whole bridge.) This glitch can apparently happen on any system (it did not in my Xbox game), but I believe I’ve seen more people on Switch complaining that the bridge glitches and does not advance, completely blocking story progression.
