Playing Around With a Camcorder & TV Gets you some crazy feed back loop.

So today I began messing with my camcorder and simply added a potentiometer to its output with one side to ground and the rest going out. Which gave me a neat messy image. Then I pointed the camcorder to the TV. Which gave me some crazy interesting video. I then turned off the lights so the only light source the camera had was the TV. With some adjustment of the potentiometer, it gave me some dazzling imagery I never knew was possible with such a minimal setup. I took my camera out, stuck it on a tripod and took a bunch of images.

damn dude thats a really cool simple effect, what resistance pot did you use? did you just tie it into an RCA cable?
I used a 10k precision potentiometer. It's being used as a voltage divider. Hooked up two RCA jacks to a bread board with some alligator leads. It was just a quick and dirty job.
It was kind of difficult to get a good image with my camera . Probably should have set the focus before turning out the lights...
This is the kind of stuff i wanted to do with a camcorder. Going to have to experiment with it more.
Nice. I'll definitely be trying this out
where do you ground the potentiometer too? sorry I don't know too much about this stuff
(Middle) is the out put, (left) is the input, (right) is ground. Hook up the grounds of both jacks to the ground pin (right). Hook up the plus side of the first Jack to the input (left). Hook up the plus of the second Jack to the (middle) pin.
The plus side of the rca jack is the middle pin. The ground is the outer ring tab.
