Wheelchair lift, donate?

Hello,

Anyone got any suggestions for the wheel chair lift in my short bus? I'd drive it to the dump but I feel like some one could use it or i could sell it to a recycler. Also have the chairs from the bus in storage if you have any suggestions for those.

Some people on skoolie.net have reported selling their lifts for a few hundred or whatever, but I imagine you'd have to post an ad and then wait for a good while. Seats are pretty worthless - I thought I would reuse the metal in mine, but it takes a lot of effort to clean up the small lengths of square tubing you can get out of them, and the seat backs would provide useful material if they didn't have multiple stiffening folds in them that prevent you from getting any large, flat pieces out of it.

The third time my bus was robbed, they took all my seats and ceiling panels, making off with about 3/4 of the trash I was going to have to haul to the dump myself. It was my favorite robbery, that's for sure.

Where the hell are you parking?

Port Richmond, PA (in north Philly). Right next to Kensington, famous for its open-air heroin market. Syringes everywhere. It was the only place I could initially find that would let me park my bus and work on it while it was still unregistered and uninsured. It's now in a safe spot much closer to where I live so all is well.

Contact a company that installs lifts in vehicles, they might take it off your hands or be able to steer you towards an organisation that you can donate it to. I work in the disability sector and man I tell you there are a lot of underprivileged people out there and one of them may be able to make good use of it.

cl Facebook market place (thats where I sold mine) made $200. With all the trouble removing it, felt worth simply posting it. Can also local business as suggested, better than junking it. I still get offers on the bus seats but for some reason the potential buyers kept falling off radar. Still worth reposting! Note the feeling of having it removed is way more valuable than the money received what it’s worth.

Donate it? You can EASILY sell it for $500-600 on Craigslist.. I sold my first one and now I am selling my second bus’s lift. Thats $500 right off your purchase price, c’mon!

Can post it on Craigslist to see if anyone can use it, or call your local Habitat for Humanity "ReStore" and see if they would want it.
