So How Will Vince De-Good NXT?

There is still the chance the XFL will be a sufficient necessary distraction, at least for a while. VKM's doomed fantasy of taking down the NFL has to play itself out, and that will take time. But eventually, the question becomes: what exactly will happen, to make us realize Vince has his thumb in the soup? What will be the moment everyone has to acknowledge NXT is not and likely never again will be what it once was?

You can give me shit for ruining NXT all you want, but I'll never use the word "de-good" in an actual sentence.

Yes. Making up a word, vs. destroying an already beloved potential third brand. You got me there.

this guy really said “de-good”. also, i think we should continue having 100 threads about this a day and bitching and complaining about something that hasn’t even happened yet

I made up a word, because I couldn't settle on a verb. You complain about it while ignoring both capitalization and punctuation.

I am very sorry, Officer sir. Will not happen again.

"Ruin" seemed too harsh. So did "damage." So I made up a word that while as clumsy as it obviously is, seemed to cover everyone's concerns.

Meltzer literally speculated that Vince is going to take over the NXT and everyone is taking it as a given. Incredible stuff.

dyloniusfunk•

Wow how shocking that Meltz would try to make NXT look bad now that it might be competing with his buddies show. No one could see this coming.

It is more that anyone who has paid attention for a while knows how unlikely it is he will be able to resist playing a part creatively. And at least often as not, that does not add an element NXT fans want to see in that brand.

It is reasonable to assume that Vince would want to be involved once NXT is on USA Network, but it is also reasonable to assume that 74 years old man would have incredibly hard time running RAW, SmackDown, XFL, and NXT on the top of it.

So as you see it's all assumptions at the moment. The whole thing is yet to be officially announced, so how about we wait until NXT starts doing TV shows when we will likely know who is running it?

msctexOP"A Diabolical Liberty"•

OK. But my point is if we do realize Vince is involved, exactly why and how that will be.

That's the reason he said it. It's so transparent and this sub is gobbling it up.

Razzler1973•

That's precisely why Meltzer speculated on that, it's sent the NXT fans into a tizzy of negativity!

Big Dog putting over Adam Cole by taking a Panama Sunrise and a Last Shot would be awesome!

I was thinking it might have something to do with Adam Cole's size. I guess this would qualify.

Some equivalent of Batista vs Big Show on WWECW.

I might be minority here...but a few of the things Vince has focused on (Bray Wyatt story and Smackdown story structure) have been good. As long as Hunter and his group still have control over Takeover events and long term stories...I dont see Vince having some input as a bad thing. Hell, according to Hunter, Vince does pitch and have some influence on NXT stories.

I'm not saying the man is entirely toxic. He just doesn't prioritize the kind of things NXT is known for. That doesn't mean he can't lend some insight. Just that complete control, would result eventually in something completely different.

90% of the matches are now a 2/3 falls match, with stupid DQ's and screwy finishes for the remaining matches.

It may not be as good right now as it has been recently, but recently it was extraordinarily good. It's still a good show.
