Can someone interprete two key points of my dream?

There was this big house in which I just finished painting the enterior, then got disturbed and took black paint and spattered it all across the white walls.

I collected hairpins I found in a bowl, the unknown person that accompanied me there said they belonged to a deceased person. Didn't bother me to collect all of them in my hands.

Your subconsciousness is trying to tell you to get rid of negative energy and to let go of the past. But you want to hold onto it for some reason.

The big house could be a life full of potential, with finishing painting the interior could be about deciding what one wants to do with it. Being disturbed and splattering black paint across the white walls could be that you may not have included/experienced the bad to frame things, so it would be too pure/idealistic.

The hair pins could the small idea structures that hold substance to them out of the bowl of experience which one uses to frame how one will structure the flow of oneself/life. Being from a deceased person could be saying that you not need experience everything directly, that you can learn with how other people have tackled life. It not bothering you could be because you respect that person, wouldn't mind having that influence on you.
