I'm about to start collecting sand for 85 crafting, should i be dropping the 1kg pieces of sandstone when I mine? Also any brilliant ideas for getting from 84 magic to 88 so I can stew boost 93 mage?

For mage, MTA is great, barrows is great, alching is great :) that’s what I did to get my levels in the 80’s range
I've already done 300 barrows chests with ibans haha I promised myself no more till trident. I'm dreading it but I still need b2p so thanks for the reminder
Understandable. Another note, masters wand is AMAZING and mages book can be useful (if you don’t have the book of darkness). Also bursting dust devils, jellies, or nechs if you have the level, are great xp. You can kill some Dagannoth Rex too for some mage xp!
Master wand is kinda worthless if you don't have kodai. Most things are bursted where magic bonus doesn't matter, and the rest is toxic trident. The only two real exceptions are zammy GWD and bandos.
It's worth getting before kodai insignia, because you might as well get the magic xp while it is still significant, but it's not as good as mage's book, infinity boots.
Yeah I have like 30k deaths and 20k bloods and 60k chaos runes from my barrows journey. Just haven't got the slayer tasks to use 30k (although I'm thinking about selling the chaos for a fury and regen bracelet once I get this crafting grind done)
I wouldn't sell chaos for a regen. You're going to want to have the onyxes for zenytes down the line. Do a regen when you're done with zens/fury and get onyxes as pvm drops.
According to the ironman skilling discord its more efficient to drop 1kg pieces
Reading this thread as a babby ironman is scary. I just bought 1200 buckets of sand/soda ash from Port Khazard because I'm following a guide, but I still don't know what I'm gonna use them for. Does anyone have a tl;dr or a link or something that explains what fuck I'm going to be doing in a month or whenever I level crafting?
Normiemanscape has spoiled me, over there you just buy battlestaves/pre-made molten glass and bankstand and never have to learn what's going on
You glassblow them into unpowered orbs to make battlestaffs as a pre slayer income gold method, something around 10-15k will get you close to the 75 range (it's been a while for me don't remember). You can farm giant seaweed that can be used with the lunar spell superglassmake (77 mage) as 6 normal seaweed. Eventually you realize you have too many unpowered orbs and make lenses for 2.5 exp more
Well, I kept the 1kg and did tick manip on the four rocks by the grinder... I think it’s worth to keep them especially if you use tick manip
You will get a decent amount of magic xp from super glass make.. ice bursting nechs in the catacombs gives a nice profit and a good chunk of magic xp. It got me to 96 magic at 91 slayer without ever explicitly training magic. It’s definitely a passive thing on Ironmen.
Plank make is decent to afk and start your construction grind, if you really want magic levels
Just FYI you should definitely barrage nechs when you get 94. You still profit because while it costs more per spell, it takes about 35-40% less casts to do a task due to how much stronger barrage is - It's not just about doing more damage to nechs, it's also about the death spawns dying faster and therefore more of your damage being on the nechs to begin with.
And then faster magic/slayer xp is nice too.
I got an early zenyte shard 250kc into demonic at 75 slayer so I haven't bursted much yet. Really would like the suffering because my slayer style is more focused on exp/afk instead of exp/hour lol
I would just dump your gp into bursting runes and take over dust devils for a few hours. You will lose a small amount of gold. Also, you could do barrows for the runes if you don’t have a large cash stack yet

I just finished mining like 20k sand. I dropped 1kg and casually mined it without 3t whilst watching Dota. If the last inventory is a 1kg, I don't drop it and dump it into the grinder. You get around 100 sand per inv on average by dropping the 1kg.
