Reminds me of the DarkMatter video where God takes the political spectrum and makes it 3D for him in a category called 'fucking better than you'.

You got a link for that?

Here ya go brother: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DniP1veK_Qw

Never seen it, but yes, the same exact idea haha

We regret that time and resources do not allow us to engage in exchanges about particular placements.

Says it all.

And this is what I get when I tried to answer as Yang knowing a lot of his policies and gauging his values:

I'll call massive BS on that scale.

I consider myself further right than yang, and sometimes find small issues with things he says (though he’s still my guy). I was even on the left side of the chart, no way Yang is placed properly.

Their politician placements are super weird. Trump is just a little less authoritarian than Stalin.

For German the Greens are put in center right. And they're more left than our social democrats. Even tho I agree they're more authoritarian than our social democrats.

nitePhyyre•

What is weird about Trump? Are you saying he should be ranked higher?

onkel_axel•

Lower, like everyone else basically.

What’s really messed up is that there are a lot of self-described apolitical people out there who are totally disengaged and don’t pay attention to who’s running. They go and take these simplistic surveys/quizzes to see what they get, but instead of questioning the validity of them, they’re like “oooh, I got Beto O’Rourke!” Then they go on with their life in their bubbles until Election Day, and low key fill in that Beto O’Rourke bubble if they even vote at all. It’s a pessimistic description, but I KNOW people this has happened to, and I would be surprise if it wasn’t happening on a massive scale.

(No disrespect to Beto. Just using him as an example)

I'm confused as to why Castro and Buttigieg are considered further right than Biden

9
datramtOPYang Gang :HappyYang:•

I’m confused by a lot of the graph, TBH. Somebody I know pulled it off of this site: https://www.politicalcompass.org/ I thought it REALLY mis-pegged Yang so I felt inclined to fix at least that part 😎

11
Jbo242•

Also, how is Delaney further left than all 3?

2
randomthrowawaysss2:one::two::three::four::five::six:•

What are they left on? I’ll be honest and admit I don’t know much about their positions

How is warren next to deblasio

heartmirrorYang Gang :HappyYang:•

Lmao this PC reminds me of that "top 50 greatest rappers" list that everyone got upset about a few weeks ago. I'm honestly baffled at some of these decisions. In general, though, I don't think most Americans realize just how right-wing our political center of gravity is compared to other Western countries. America does not have a mainstream bonafide left-wing coalition; we mostly have a bunch of shrieking neoliberals who hate hicks and only care about poor people when they can use them as pawns

datramtOPYang Gang :HappyYang:•

For the record I got the graph from here https://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection2020 I only fixed Yang’s placement :)

2
heartmirrorYang Gang :HappyYang:•

Oh haha I know the PC team made it aside from the Z-axis edit, which is definitely an improvement

2
datramtOPYang Gang :HappyYang:•

Ah cool. Yeah—woke up to a bunch of comments saying the 2D graph was way wrong so you got caught in my spam response ;)

You’re completely right about the US center of gravity. A friend of mine who is from Europe but living in the US posted the 2D graph and made that same observation. The goal posts are so far right compared to so many places that our perspective of like every issue is skewed to the right. That is something about the 2D graph I generally agree with. Placement of people like Yang and Gravel tho... GRAVEL!? Smack dab in the middle!? What were they smoking? I should make another on of these with gravel in outer space lol.

Hey man. Stop bullying us neolibs, ill call Soros!

1
heartmirrorYang Gang :HappyYang:•

While you have him on the phone, tell him I still haven't gotten paid for arguing with people in Yahoo News comment sections re: Obamacare when I was 13

2
Apple_Bloople•

Graph is crap. They put Bernie left of Gravel. NOBODY is left of Gravel.

6
datramtOPYang Gang :HappyYang:•

Agreed! For the record, I didn’t make the 2D graph. I saw it posted somewhere and decided to fix yang’s placement at least by adding the z dimension

1
BuraisonFujii:hawaii:•

I'm apparently wayyyyy to the left of Gravel. I call bs on this chart.

3
datramtOPYang Gang :HappyYang:•

Haha, yeah. Didn’t know it was possible to be left of Gravel. For the record, I got the graph from here https://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection2020 I only fixed Yang’s placement

For those wondering, I took the test as Yang and this is what I got:

It might be fun if a few more people did it and we averaged the results.

This chart very nearly gave me an aneurysm

I think you need to take the entire compass and shift it left a huge amount for the Dem candidstes but Yang is perfect where he is

I got the graph from here https://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection2020 I only fixed Yang’s placement but your right that most of the graph is wrong
