After trying for years to get pregnant my wife had our first 3 weeks ago. The amount of nights spent awake hoping that he was going to be ok and healthy (given the trouble we had getting pregnant) was really stressful. Not just for me but dreading what it would have been like for my wife, and in a big way you just feel like your along for the ride sometimes.
Absolutely horrible thing to go through and I hope that anyone in that position is able to get through it, either trying again or not.
Best wishes to them.
I remember when my daughter was born.. emergency C section. She was pretty much purple and lifeless when she came out. I remember looking at her and thinking "oh no don't tell me this is happening". You have your whole life flash past your eyes. Not the past, but the future. A shit future.
Turned out, it was kind of normal for the circumstances. Just needed her airways cleared and despite a few days in the nursery for observation she's fine
I'll never forget that though. It's one of those things a father deals with alone because the mother is high as a kite on the operating table and literally doesn't even know she's giving birth.
Not sure how having a problem free pregnancy and healthy child is comparative to Sloane's tragedy.
This is grossly insensitive and you have completely missed the point.
I have TWO children that were born healthy, shouldnt I by default have DOUBLE the understanding of OP? I mean I had to worry TWICE as much and be burdened by universal stresses. R
Oh look we found the winner of the “asshole of the day” award
His supposed 'empathy' was dependent on anecdote that represents 50% of new parents and contained zero trauma. I'm sure Rory appreciates the derailing
literally how was he derailing Rory? he was just sharing a very traumatic experience you absolute sociopath
My wife and I have been through this, very hard to deal but time will heal.

Good on them for turning tragedy into positive action and I have obviously only support and sympathy for them, but I'm sure they would understand that, as a father, I don't have the courage to listen to them talk about it. Sorry. The Instagram post alone turns me inside out.
