Hey, I made my char on the 13rd and got my the name I wanted.
But just right now, my friends joined the other faction so I deleted that char and name and tried to reuse it for the other character. It was literally max. 5sec and now it says Name not available. Is this even realistic? Is my name gone now

Same thing happened to me and I even did it at 5AM EST - just a few days ago. Either "name botting" is a real thing or it's a one in a million thing. I can't imagine someone just sitting there hitting the create button over and over.
I know right? I thought it was a good time to quickly change but there's that.
it's not hard getting an auto click software going and have it click every second for 20 days straight on a secondary PC.

Virtual machine.
Why would I waste electricity on running a secondary PC, if I can just make a virtual machine with 1 core and 4 gigs of RAM, give it like 50 gigs of disk space, install Windows and Classic there and just set up a tool that will click a single button forever? ;)
With modern 6+ core systems, you won't even notice it running.

But why if the name was taken before? I mean now it's good for him or her but in general it seems like a waste of electricity
people are banking on the fact that they just got the name on a level 1 warrior that theyll delete and recustomize later.
So they keep the program running in hopes the person will delete before the game actually opens up. Best time to delete and remake would be a week or two after the game is out
It happened to me also. I sent a ticket to blizzard and they answered that my name is free, but maybe could be a problem with the servers. I have to wait a few days... No solution from Bliz
I lost pally my brother had it and I had a auto clicker going at stupid speed trying to get it lost it anyway

It really depends on what the name was. Could be gone, or it could be that the servers thought that the character was still created because of some weird lag. I'm not sure how many people are jumping on and off at the moment.
I think it was a pretty popular one and its gone now. It was "Doom".
dude people take this name shit serious. the only way to do it is to have a mate to immediatly take the name when u delete it, then u can screw around with the look a bit longer.
