Have been riding this for four days and felt to me a little slow especially when battery is drained. I was only able to get about 16mph today at ~60% battery. Thoughts? Should I expect some kind of custom firmware which will hack the top speed like m365?

Yes! Absolutely correct. The thing should not be doing 16mph (for me this starts at 70-80pct battery; i'm 195lbs).
We need a firmware hack that will push the batteries harder..... after all, do we really need 40 miles of range? No! We want more power!
Thanks for this post. The search for the Max hack continues..... (btw: the hack using an ES4 head on a Max frame is not needed nor helpful.... we need a robust custom firmware not a serial number mod.)
Is the Max compatible with M365 compatible apps? If so, there’s a chance.
I tried a random third party tool with my MAX and it wasn't compatible because they're not compatible with the M365s that have been updated to later firmware with the newer BLE stack, which is what the MAX is based on. Once they get their apps updated to work with that, we might start seeing stuff.
What about the latest Xiaomi Home app?
I haven't tried that one, just the main Ninebot app (which works fine) and then M365 Dashboard, which wouldn't work because of the newer firmware.
I’ve been around the Discord server a fair bit, and, current situation is that we’re waiting for Segway to issue a software update. Without that, we have nothing to reverse-engineer.
Some folks were trying to extract the existing firmware from the dash, but the MAX has some protections against that that other models like ES lacked.
Well released a firmware update a few days ago so should be soon?
really? sweet! did your app ask you to update the scooter? or, how did you find out about the new firmware?
If you log into the segway app on your mobile device it says there is a new firmware update, do you wish to install it.
I dod not because on the scooter hacking site they said don't update it or it could make it so that when they crack the code to make it go faster it might not work.

Been riding mine forday or so. Im in Australia and its maxed out at 15km's ph. Been searching on a way to hack the firmware to unlock the speed limiter also.
I guess sit and wait until someone figures it out :)
can you use the ESdowngrade app and the ES CFW generator?
Agree it is a bit slower than my es4.
