Gardiner got 4x4 and I imagine that most terms were worried about his health (hence why he said most teams offered 1-2 year deals). Werenski got 5x3 because he signed a bridge. He will cost 9-10 to sign a contract that will take him into the later years of his contract when the bridge is up. You gotta pay for term.
