Does anyone know where I can get bulk lanyards?

So I've got an art project I want to do and I was thinking that maybe somebody might know a good place to get ahold of a bunch of unwanted lanyards? I could buy a bunch of lanyards but they'll all be the same and that's not really what I'm looking for. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try aliexpress. Did you mean DragonCon specific ones?

Nope. Just lanyards. Will check that out though.

nicole would probably love it if you bought a bunch of her lanyards. :)

I actually did buy some. I'm looking for a few thousands though. I might see if she has some off product I could buy though.

wow.... definitely post a pic when you're done with this thing. :)

what about keeping an eye on the schedule for your local convention center or big hotels, and seeing what groups are coming in; then literally just calling them up and asking if, a) they will be giving their attendees badges on lanyards and, b) can you have any leftovers? if they're doing date specific ones, i can't see them being able to re-use them.

Google...There are lots of companies out there who do swag type items.

I assume you mean you're asking for references of companies people used.

Our convention just talked to the Tee Shirt company we dealt with.

Well sort of. I know I can just buy the lanyards and that's probably what I'll end up doing, I was just hoping that someone might have some connections to someone who's looking to get rid of lanyards after an event or damaged ones before hand.

Ultimately I'm looking for a couple thousand lanyards with assorted images on them. My backup plan is to just buy them but if I can keep some already produced lanyards from going in the landfill I'll do that also.

I misunderstood. I thought you wanted one with your art on them vs use them. (Printed)

Look to see if there are any liquidation stores in your area. The type of place that buys up stuff from business going out of business. I like to drop by these stores and I managed to get about 2000 lanyards for $300.

If you know of any companies that are changing their name / logo you can always contact them. When my company merged with another all that stuff was going into the garbage.

Discountmugs is who I use to print most of my stuff for my convention, but their lanyards have pretty high min orders I believe. I ended up getting some from 24hourwristbands.com the one time I needed a smaller number.

ETA: I also know someone who owns a printing business - http://fanamaniacs.com/ . He can also probably do lanyards. I haven't ordered those from him specifically, but he's done badge ribbons, t-shirts, and posters for me, at decent prices and they were all high quality.
