2016 BMW 7 Series vs 2017 Mercedes E-Class?

Both these cars are around the same price range for used under 50k miles ($35-$40k)

The 2016 7 Series is closer to $40k while the 2017 E-Class is closer to $35k.

I do not really care about performance. I am mainly interested in comfortability, technology, and luxury.

I know the E-Class got a pretty big design upgrade in 2017 but I’m not sure about the 7 Series.

Any thoughts or similar used/CPO cars around this price range?

The 7 series is definitely a comfortable ride and it got upgraded for the 2016 model year. But please, I beg you, avoid the 750Li models and get a 740 model.

Yup, I’m looking specifically at the 740i model

Good. The straight 6 engines are more reliable.

I’d also look at the S class, A8 and A7. Lexus LS if you want something more reliable than a German luxury sedan.

I’m pretty sure S class is outta my price range.

I’ll look at A8’s though

Worth mentioning the Hyundai/Kia equivalents to these cars are dirt cheap in America as no one wants them. But they’re by all accounts 9/10ths as good as the German rivals.

The Hyundai Genesis/equus, or Kia K900.
