Haven't genuinely laughed in years
so I haven't genuinely laughed or found any amusement in doing things for years. Things I used to find hilarious aren't anymore, and even though I am interested and understand the shows i watch, the stories and jokes i'm told and the memes i see I just can't seem to even crack a smile. I do think it's funny, theres just some disconnect in whatever part of my brain. Sometimes I watch funny stuff with my family and they would just die laughing and i felt weird being the only one not laughing so i'd fake it. The only time I can laugh at stuff is when im stoned, its ridiculous cause i spent 10 minutes laughing at a reflection of a lightbulb once but i can't even laugh at actually funny things while sober.
Everything I once loved doing I have no motivation to do them anymore, like dancing, animating, and painting. I would try to get back into it and it just wouldn't fulfill me the way it used to? if that makes sense. I don't know, I'm just in a dark place in my life right now, I have been for a few years now. I'm doing things to get out of this shlump like taking more shifts at work, studying, and hanging out with friends but somehow i feel like its not enough cause I still feel empty and, more often than not, quite sad.
I admit that some of my coping mechanisms have not been the greatest, but I wanna be better. Has anyone felt this way? I'd appreciate any insight, advice or stories or literally anything lol
