I know this will probably get lost during the game, but what are your guys’ opinions on having two favorite teams?

Do you guys just wait until the night to post this kind of stuff?
Can’t say I know what you mean, but sorry I guess
If it was a genuine post then I would like to apologize for being a big dickhead about it, I’ve just seen a trend where at night the level of shitposts increases and judged this post too harshly with that in mind
Yeah it was genuine, but no problem man. It can get hard to tell when you can only go off of text on a screen. I’ve definitely had my share of misunderstandings.
Some people don’t have access to reddit all day long. Feel free to just move on to the next post. No need to participate on every post.
Do you boo. I see that often, people move from other cities and embrace their new team while also supporting their original.
I feel like most fans don't care, why should we gatekeep you from enjoying a sport.

Right? I don’t have a favorite team. I either like a team or dislike a team. Some teams I like more than others and a couple I even hate. My tastes usually consist of which players/coaches are on a team. I didn’t like The Cowboys while Romo was playing for them, but now since I see Prescott as an exciting player, I like to watch them now. Overall, I just want to watch some exciting games. Sometimes I will flip on a game and not sure who I want to win till the 4th quarter depending on how a team is playing the game or a stand out player is doing some amazing stuff on the field.
Texans and Bills baby. Bills are always my Madden team since I'll be less sad when the success doesn't translate
You are a grown ass adult now, if you want 10 favorite teams you can and you don't have to justify why you like them to anyone if you don't want to.
Watch what you want to watch, enjoy what you enjoy. learn this now and you will have less stress in your life.
Do whatever you want
Personally not me but different strokes for different folks
community > sticking to the team that was good when you first started watching
I'm not personally a fan of it since the people I know that have two teams, do so to brag about their "second". I've met too many people that claim their second teams are NE and Alabama (or whoever happens to be doing well that year), and it's obvious that it's because they can't stay loyal through their first choice losing.
I live in a college town in WA, and so many people randomly root for the two above teams, or whoever is surrounded by hype, in addition to Seattle. I understand college sports since there are so many teams, and many people like myself have degrees from multiple universities. Professional leagues, I see it as a cop-out. In the end, if it makes you feel better, then do you.
Yeah, as I replied to someone else earlier I really like the Ravens and would never give up on them, but I have big family ties to the Eagles and the only reason I’m a Ravens fan is because I went through a “I don’t want to be like everyone else” phase and it stuck.
I didn't mean it to be a shot at you if it came off that way. I'm sure there are people that have their reasons like yourself!
The first NFL game I can remember seeing was Super Bowl 31. The Packers won and Favre became my favorite player and the Packers my favorite team. I was 9. I was raised a Jets fan and they're my absolute #1 but the Packers are my #2 even though I probably liked them first. I own both Packers and Jets jerseys and wear them all.
I couldn’t do it personally. But that’s just me. Everyone’s situation is different. I think it really just comes down to what makes you happy. If you genuinely enjoy it, who cares what anyone else thinks. It’s all rather arbitrary anyways. Like coffee or caramels.
Patriots and Bucs fan here
Nothing wrong with a little secondary fandom action, but when it comes down to it there can be only one
Personally I like to think it's okay to have 1 NFC team and 1 AFC team - but that's me. You do whatever makes you happy man that's all that really matters ✌
I think you can "like" more than one team but not be a "fan" of more than one team. There's a difference.
I love beef but pork is good too
I can’t tell if this is saying two teams are ok or not, but I like your style
nobody elses opinion matters. if you like two teams you like two teams. if you think thats lame you think its lame.
nobody cares
I know this will probably get lost during the game
Downvoting you for starting your thread like that.
Not gonna lie, I didn’t expect the amount of responses I got. I figured most people on this sub would be either watching the game or not particularly concerned with this sub right now
We use to say in high school that most people with "Two favorite teams" just became tired of watching their real favorite team continue to lose and want to root for a winner. Win, ot lose or even absolutely suck for years, for me its Da Bears or nothing.
I don’t know, it’s not really that for me. I just really miss the togetherness of all my friends and family on game days, and I really just kind of picked the Ravens during my “I don’t want to be like everyone else” phase but then got really attached to them, but now all my family are Philly fans and I sit and watch the games but feel like an outsider because of my asshole 12-yo self’s choices
That's understandable, you have family ties and what not. Ultimately it's what makes you happy. For me, I was born a Bears fan, but in California lol. Never was too many around when I was a kid and all my friends were either 49ers, Raiders or Packers. I only got to watch the games with my dad and despite a rocky relationship and the ultimate demise of our relationship, I've stayed loyal to my bears.
For you, honestly, dont listen to what everyone else says. Do what makes you happy and what feels right. Even when you have Jackasses like me making comments.
