I am not wasting my time against a bad machup or a cancer deck, i will concede as much as i want. Try to stop me nerd
I've literally only played 20 games, I haven't bought any gems or packs and I've never played magic before that. I do not have a tactical advantage.
why are you downvoting this hahahaha
Take the win. Who cares about your feelings.
I took a gamble on 1 land opening hand. Two turns later, I still don't have a land. I'm not gonna sit here and watch you masturbate your easy win. I'll concede.
I know my deck. I know it's ins and outs. I see your deck and I formulate what I need to do to win, and the best card you need to have for me to never have a chance of winning. You played your best card and shifted the advantage ever so slightly, but you don't know I can never answer that. I'll concede rather than prolong a game I'll never win. I'm not gonna wait for you to punt.
Turn 1, I got a good hand. You play something, but I can manage. But wait, I got a delivery guy knocking on my door, or an alarm went off, or my terror boss is calling me on the phone. I don't want you to think I'm roping. And I don't want to come back to a zero timeout board state with no plays made. I'll concede and take the real world responsibilities first.
What you sound like, is someone who wants to flex their wins on their opponent. Sure, that is fun for you. Not fun for us. Take the win. I'm out to play another game and I will never remember you probably. And here you'll be whining on reddit for that orgasm you didn't get.
If you've gotta deal with your boss why are you playing? Probably got work to do.
You're assuming that I'm playing to win rather than playing because playing is fun. I literally explained in my post that I didn't "win" because I never even finished a game.
Is it just accepted that nobody finishes a game and you're meant to concede defeat after you lose 3 points?
If you've gotta deal with your boss why are you playing?
I know right? Imagine being at home after work playing Arena to relax and then your boss calls you to do a rushed, unpaid overtime work, which you can't refuse because you don't want to lose your job.
You're assuming that I'm playing to win rather than playing because playing is fun. I literally explained in my post that I didn't "win" because I never even finished a game.
And you assumed that everyone else sucks because they don't play the way you play and have fun the way you have fun.
Is it just accepted that nobody finishes a game and you're meant to concede defeat after you lose 3 points?
Let me tell you something directly from the rulebook:
104.3a A player can concede the game at any time. A player who concedes leaves the game immediately. That player loses the game.
So yes, it's accepted. You don't need any emotional reasoning to concede. No need to hold hands and say goodbye, or have a gentleman's hug congratulating each other in battle.
This isn't Yu-Gi-Oh anime, stop fantasizing.
My wife works during the day time on the weekends. So I usually try to squeeze in a couple of games while my 3 year old takes a nap. So guess what, if she wakes up while I’m playing and needs me for something I quit. These threads bitching about easy wins are some of the most annoying complaint threads. People need to realize real life takes priority over gaming.
How many times are we going to see this topic? You’re not the first and won’t be the last.
People quit because of various reasons. Your time is not equal to everyone else’s. If I’m in a losing position I’m not wasting my time to see your game through. Tough shit. Deal with it.
So you really just accept that you're never going to finish a game because; A: You're going to quit as soon as you lose advantage, or; B: you're expecting you opponent will quit as soon as you get an advantage?
EDIT: I see that instead of responding to my question you chose to downvote it. Tough question?
If you have downvotes it’s because your response was shit. I didn’t downvote you.
I’ve played many matches to the end. Most likely it wasn’t against you.
If your opponent concedes, you won, the game was "finished". You don't get any extra points for attacking to actually win, you just wasted time.
EDIT: Even in paper it is considered good manners to concede when you know you've lost.
This is the bit that I don't get though. I don't want "extra points for attacking." I'm literally playing to "waste my time". Why do you think playing the game is wasting time. Stop playing if you're wasting time, uninstall it if you don't enjoy it.
This is what I mean when I say "you're playing the game wrong". If you think you're wasting your time, don't even log on in the first place
I'm not playing the game the way you play it. I'm not wrong, you aren't right. Get over yourself. The rules clearly state anyone can concede at any time for any reason. No one owes you a game the way you want to play it.
We get the opposite posts about people complaining that their opponent won't concede. No one owes you a concession either. No one owes you anything, you are not entitled to anything.
Playing out a game I know I'm going to lose isn't fun for me. I'd rather get into another game. You got your win.
It really depends on which deck i see, anything with simic flash, t2 though erasure, or that ass fuck teferi i always concede. I dont have time for that shit and your bullshit!
The best feeling in Arena is when you get hit with the t2 Erasure and the opponent scoops immediately after getting a gander at your hand lol.
I quit because my son needed me for something.
Would you rather sit through ten minutes of rope?
I will auto-concede against some decks that take forever to beat or lose against like mill and planeswalkers. I'm just trying to get my dailies done without pulling my hair out.
Play ranked if you want people sticking around, in play-que there's no consequence for losing, and most people are there just grinding dailies so they don't give a fuck.
If I miss lands for the first 2 or 3 turns i'm quitting because there's no point being so far behind when my deck has no card draw/advantage. I can see what's in my hand and I can see what you're playing - if you're dropping 5-6 mana planeswalkers and i'm still waiting for mana for my 3 drop then im outta here lol
There's really no point to continuing a losing match in Arena if you don't have the tools in hand to recover ground, with the exception of wanting to see how the deck that's stomping you works in greater detail (usually only applicable for some unique jank that's just impressing you).
It's not like paper Magic where you can shoot the breeze while the match is going and a lot of people are solely grinding the rewards with limited amounts of play time.
No rage involved. If I get paired with you in the Play queue, and you're using a deck that is even vaguely a decent idea in a tourney, I'm quitting as soon as I notice. Don't care. If I wanted to play vs. those decks, I'd be in Ranked or an Event.
It's good to see this sub has returned to normal. :)
I'll let you guys handle this "rage quit" post although we really out to prep a canned response so we could just call it up kind of like the "RemindMe bot" or cardfetcher...
Anyway, you all have fun with this :)
Play ranked or pay event. If there is something to loose, you'll play more true matches.
You can't blame your opponent if you don't take any risk yourself.
They think they can't come back from a poor start and care more about getting new cards and xp than actually playing the game.
Judging by your post here, you care about ..honor-shaming? some random anons on the internet more than about actually playing the game.
So perhaps you are the one who needs to heed their own advice here, eh?
I had a few games where the opponent had an advantage for most of them game, only for them to quit as soon as their domination came to an end. In these examples I didn't even reach an advantage.
Did you have perfect information about their hand, deck and all the other factors? Had it occurred to you that perhaps your opponents were able to judge the state of the game better than you did?
Your complaints are nonsensical and you should feel bad about them. Your little honor code thing is irrelevant to other players. They are not obliged to sit through the game for your entertainment if they don't feel like it for absolutely any reason whatsoever.
This community is so full of people who don't know how to enjoy themselves
Yea, sure, like people going out of the way to preach on reddit how strangers should think and conduct themselves in an online game.

What queue were you playing in? The play queue has no stakes, you lose nothing but you can get rewarded for winning so that queue is used grind those win rewards.
If you want the opponent to stick around then ranked and constructed events would be good for you since opponents will be less likely to concede when there ranked points/ gold at stake.
Honestly it was happening in ranked as well. The way I see it there's no consequences whatsoever for losing or for winning.
What rank is that happening in? If its bronze there is no points lost for losing, in silver its 2 points up 1 point down and gold+ its 1 up and 1 down. Usually the higher you climb the less likely your opponent is going to concede early. Also Bo3 players are less likely to concede the entire match (maybe they will in a single game) since there are more points on the line (2 instead of 1) so you might get more satisfying games there.
If you still feel that players are conceding early, I would suggest watching streamers to see when they would concede games to get an idea of when they feel that a game is over, since they usually play a lot and hence would know when conceding is the right choice.
For example if its turn 5-6 and the opponent has multiple creatures/planewalkers out and if you are stuck on 3 land with most the cards in your hand locked (>3cmc or wrong color) the game is usually over even if you have 20 life.
Bronze and silver. I think maybe I accidentally stumbled on a good deck because people are quitting like they don't even want to play.
Literally all you have to do is use shock and murder in your first 4 moves and they quit.
._.
If you're on turn 5 on a control deck and haven't drawn a single land beyond the 3 you kept in your opening hand, you SHOULD be conceding. There's an over 90% chance that you're not coming back from.
Why SHOULD I watch you do a one-sided beatdown because I am incapable of drawing the 4th of my 27 lands in the top quarter of my deck?
Heck, even if I manage to pull myself back from not dying immediately, I'm going to have to deal with the inevitable flood of lands that comes later and then recover from that just to have a chance of winning.
I don't like those odds. I'll just leave the match and find a new one where my lands aren't stuck in a clump on the bottom of my deck.
Also, I'd prefer if my opponents left when they realize they can't win. It'll save me the time and effort of slowly decking them out with my prison deck while they rope me til the last moment.
People know their decks and know when they have little or no chance left. They owe you nothing so why would they stay? On top of that you sound like a very rude person so perhaps they just way too get as far from you as quickly as they can.
Shh. We know.
When i was younger i used play magic with my games and one part that i hated is to arrange my deck after playing. As many have said that is one of the good things about the arena, why i will take 30 mins in a play that i know that i will loose, as some fellow players have said we know our decks.
Also there is the option of the bot, i play often againts it, after doing all my daylies.
You keep saying this. How do you know your opponents are enraged? How are you so confident they aren't simply conceding because they think they can't win anymore and don't want to waste any more time on a lost game?
You need to stop projecting positions onto your opponents. You are not a mind reader. Stop pretending to be one.
I know right? I’ve played this game for a year and I’ve almost never played the U/R colors and wanted to start building something.
So, it’s the end of the season and I’m in the bottom of diamond, don’t care about ranking up, so I’m conceding a lot as I tweak my deck.
“Oh, I have no answer for this in my deck and it’s going to kill me in two turns.” Concede
“Eh, this game looks pretty lost and this card I have two of in my hand really isn’t working. I should swap it for something else.” Concede
“Why did I not take out two lands when I just changed out those cards?” Concede.
I’m not raging, I’m just deck testing and I don’t want to waste my time with something that isn’t working. Enjoy the free wins in ranked (sometimes).
