Unity is a great thing and a great slogan. But what the workers’ cause needs is the unity of Marxists, not unity between Marxists, and opponents and distorters of Marxism.

Too many ML parties are run by egotistical assholes who all want to be the next Lenin and would rather run their irrelevant party into the ground than be a smaller part of an actually relevant revolutionary movement.

I’m not disparaging this video or the left-unity it prescribes. We need unity amongst Marxists. Idealists and utopians who do not base their strategy in the material conditions of their society, and those who cannot rigorously examine their own ideology or strategies to meet the needs and goals of the working class are not helpful.

I know, I was just sharing my two cents on the ML movement right now

I know one

All it is is “the only thing I can be certain of is my own existence, and even that is suspect”

And then you derive a bunch of idealist bullshit from that

Unity between materialists (Marxists) and utopian opportunists (anarchists, left-communists and other strains of liberalism) results in an ideological abomination that has never worked out. Anarchists, Trotskyists and other traitors are the ones always collaborating with imperialist nations trying to destroy successful revolutions. They want to be seen as martyrs, not people utilizing a scientific tool to actually achieve lasting socialism.

Fred Hampton, Revolutionary Marxist-Leninist and Deputy Chairman of the Black Panther Party said it best:

“We believe that the Weathermen (an anarchist organization active in the 1960s-70s) actually is anarchistic, opportunistic, individualistic, it’s chauvinistic, it’s custeristic, and that’s the bad part about it. It’s custeristic in that its leaders take the people into situations where they can be massacred. And they call that revolution.”

Hampton said anarchists were “misguided muddleheads.”

What does a liberal have to do with left unity?

6
stonedPict•

they all bully him at the end, which is the purest form of left unity

Ah. Yes. "Why are we fighting? Let's all gang up on the libs." The perfect unifying call for the modern left.

Which liberal?

TreyCray•

We have four in the video to choose from, so I guess take your pick.

3

Did you just call maoists liberals

5
TreyCray•

God no. I was joking about the egoist, the leftcom, the anarchist, and of course the liberal.

The Marxist, the "tankie" (a redundantly-added character that basically means "historically-literate person"), and the Maoist are the only respectable characters in the video.
