we used to have our guild meetings in classic CoT. bunch of warlocks would just summon everyone there and we’ll chill out for a couple of hours

nerfaliskOP:druid:•

I hold duel tourneys there haha it's fantastic!

Sushidios47•

And now I know where to lurk in the shadows!

nerfaliskOP:druid:•

It's a fantastic zone, so amazing to look at. When I need to chill in game, it's one of the spots I like to hang out. It's really out there and no traffic. Gives you time to just enjoy the scenery and relax.

Can confirm karazhan crypts are accessible. Has anyone tried wall jumping? I know a really obscure and hard to pull off trick to get into the Orgrimmar arena. If you go to the hunter trainer and jump to the roof of the house by the fishing trainer you can walljump up the side of the house's roof and get to the top of the cliffs around the valley. You can then walk around the cliffs, jump over the other waterfall, and then jump down into the arena past the invisible walls.

I couldn't do the wall jumping part on Darrowshire private server (likely from my forgetting how to wall jump), but I did succeed in doing this during Burning Crusade on live many years ago, it took a great deal of practice to pull off though.

Video of someone doing it in 2008: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEtUHbs9sq8

tips on getting to the kara crypts in classic?

2
Tediouslyuseless:horde::warlock:•

Aggro a nearby ghost close to the crypt gate and die. Rez on the other side of the gate. I believe polymorph and fear can also get you through the wall but I didn't test it.

paperakira•

sweet thanks!

cLeazy•

Tryn it

1
Rasterblath•

I had guild BRD run invite me right when I hit 50 and I didn't have the key for searing gorge and I was able to climb up the rocks to walk in between the zones and get in.

1
bryonus•

That's awesome I gotta try that

1
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Hummm, I might try it later! Thanks for the heads up!

1
MindChild•

Wall jumping sadly does not work in classic

0
justagoldfarmer•

I'm going there tonight! Hyjal next!

5
Tosadalis•

I went to Hyjal the other day. Sadly, no one was replying in the general chat. Was hoping I'd find someone there. Then again I did go there at like 5-6AM realm time lol.

5
JustinTheCheetah:alliance::priest:•

/who hyjal

Works for any zone, and you can do other neat things like /who 60 gives you a list of 25 random level 60 people on the server.

/who Stormwind 60 gives you up to 25 people in stormwind who are level 60.

It only works for your faction though, so no finding out if you're completely alone in Winterspring or not.

I'm also fairly certain you can do /who Westfall 15-18 mage and get a list of all the level 15-18 mages in westfall, or whatever zone you're trying to find a certain class to run an instance in.

5
faux_in_a_box•

Isn't up to 50?

5
JustinTheCheetah:alliance::priest:•

Could be! I'm at work at the moment so I'm going from memory.

2
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

For sure! I did front door, walljump still works!

2
Farabee:horde::warlock:•

Can you still buy 55 water/food there?

2
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Nope, no npcs spawned.

1
ScrumTool•

I wonder if you can still cheese warsong gulch and take the flag below the map

1
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

It's possible, I know there are quite a few out of bounds in vanilla that should still exist!

1
agree-with-you•

I agree, this does seem possible.

1
pepinho89:alliance::rogue:•

Damn that’s sick. How did u do it?

0
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

There's a bunch of youtube tutorials to get in there, just google "caverns of time vanilla" and there's the walljump tutorial in there. Took maybe 5 minutes.

4
Fr0zenStar•

Who are you?

-5
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Inside of the caverns of time.

Nothernsleen:mage:•

with mount hyjal and now CoT being seemingly fully developed visual wise, it seems quite obvious we can expect some classic+ stuff in 2 years

-67
Daisucks•

It was already there on vanilla. At least I think so.

57
TheScrubExpress:horde::shaman:•

It was.

34
pupmaster•

Things that existed in 2003 don't confirm classic+ lmao

41
Nothernsleen:mage:•

i know that. hows that stop the fact itd be easy to implement into classic in the future?

-27
pupmaster•

Not what your comment said.

It does not confirm anything.

12
Ziros22•

let me just fill you in right now. Nothing that has been released already in an expansion will be in classic+ That's not what classic+ is. Classic + is the idea that content that was planned in classic but AS OF NOW has still never been implemented might be explored as content.

ok cool

FeelTheDon•

Pulling info out of our asses here I see

0
noratat•

Because that's not how software works.

All this means is that they made the game world assets align with vanilla, it doesn't mean a thing for being easy/hard to backport content from later expansions

It's like having a nice sign for a store - it doesn't really mean anything without the actual store.

The only area that's even sort of graphically complete is Hyjal (and only in terms of terrain/objects), and that's still only a fraction of the work that would be needed.

1
valzorrr•

?? Lol

17
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Here's hoping! It was like this back in vanilla too.

There's also Karazan Sewers (doesn't make for a pretty picture though) easy to get into. Just die at the gate and you can ghostwalk through it. Completely open to exploration.

This took.... a bit more effort to get into. Along with Hyjal as well, needing a bit of effort to get into.

These locations are all fully built and in game and were planned, but scrapped and moved to later expansions due to time constraints.

8
Xeyon2015•

Karazan crypts have some pretty neat areas for pictures imo, albeit not happy and colorful lol. I always found the hall of the Upside-Down Sinners to be one of the most compelling areas in the game.

3
FadedRebel:alliance::rogue:•

It's the Hell of Upside-down sinners. The chinese have a lot of hells.

3
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Oh yeah but as shiny as CoT though!

1
Kizik•

It's a Big Trouble In Little China reference.

1
Sanguinica•

What lol?

3
zauru193:alliance::hunter:•

wtf are you on about?

2†
Nothernsleen:mage:•

a lot of the unreleased areas are mostly graphically complete, which is the more difficult part of creating content. why was that hard to understand?

-9
Autisticles•

Yes buddy. Very smart understanding that part. There's another part about all those complete areas being there 15 years ago and not ever being a clue to classic+.

We'll all wait for you to get that part while you're being fucking condescending in the corner.

11
Nothernsleen:mage:•

im just saying those parts are mostly developed and could be released for classic in the future. whys everyone in this sub so hostile lol

-6
keenansmith61•

You said it meant that classic+ stuff is obviously coming. It doesn't mean that at all.

1
Nothernsleen:mage:•

that does sound a bit strongly worded

1
noratat•

a lot of the unreleased areas are mostly graphically complete, which is the more difficult part of creating content.

No offense, but you clearly don't work in software or game dev.

1
keenansmith61•

Yeah man that stuff was there in OG vanilla. It means exactly nothing that it's there now.

1
Nothernsleen:mage:•

aside from the fact that if they wanted to implement it, it wouldnt take a lot of work. what in the fuck is wrong with all of you?

-1
keenansmith61•

I wasn't being hostile or anything man, I'm just saying it doesn't obviously mean they're going to do anything.

2
wingbrad4•

Classic+ or just TBC? The chances we get classic+ is about as likely as shooting a bullet off its flight path by shooting it with another bullet.

-1†
suggestiveinnuendo•

So you're saying there's a chance?

8
uitvrekertje•

50/50

Tediouslyuseless:horde::warlock:•

I think Blizzard are open to anything considering how successful OS Runescape was. Blizzard just wants to keep their cards close to their chest because any announcement would force them to commit to something they shouldn't have to.
