First Date Confusion
I am a 34F and recently hung out with a 34M. We went to school together years ago and knew who each other were but didn't really know each other. We have been friends on social media since then but also never really struck up any real conversations until recently. I initiated convo and hanging out. So, basically meeting for the first time... it was super casual, lunch and a drink. I get super nervous meeting new people in general, so I was super nervous! I actually have had a bit of a crush for a long time but either I had a bf or he had a gf. It seemed like he was pretty nervous too and sometimes there were awkward silences but everything seemed like okay, friendly. There was some mild flirting and meaningful eye contact that seemed like maybe he was interested, and at the end he gave me a hug and said thanks for reaching out. So, afterwards I texted him that I had a really nice time and that I forgot to pay him for the drink we got so if he wanted to hang out again I owe him a drink. He wrote back basically that I had overpaid for lunch but that he would totally take me up on the offer. So I was like awesome, let me know next time you are free. Now I haven't heard anything since... but it has only been 2 days. I am NOT a stage 5 clinger type and by no means throw myself at men, I'm not even looking to jump into a relationship very fast so I definitely don't want him to think that so I haven't reached out again but I'd love to get to know him better. I haven't dated in forever and I'm just confused I guess.. was he actually nervous? Or was he just bored? Is this a good/bad sign or is this totally normal? I don't know what to think or do... any guesses?

He's 34 and he's single. He's probably interested. Give him the benefit of the doubt. Does he work a stressful job? maybe he's busy? there's no reason you can't text him to say Hi if the last text was two days ago. What do you have to lose? If you don't date all the time then don't just abandon hope after one date.
I agree, Knowing that he’s in his thirties he probably got an 8 hour day job and so I wouldn’t worry about it if it’s during the week. If it’s during the weekend maybe I would start worrying.
But initiate the conversation when you feel comfortable.
