This may only last a year...
I know our heads are down right now, but looking forward, our future is bright. If our season goes as expected, we’ll lose a majority of remaining games and miss the playoffs once again.
But there is a positive to this.
There is no way a quarterback who has a $84 million contract can miss the playoffs twice with the offensive talent we have and still keep his job (at least I hope so but you never know with the Vikings). And with the record we most likely will have, we will get an early draft pick and this year’s quarterback draft class is STACKED. Even if Spielman is isn’t our GM after this season, there’s no way we don’t take a quarterback in the first round if this plays out. We will also still have young, efficient offensive play makers and a veteran-filled defense who only has a few years left. Imagine Tua Tagovailoa in our offense or Jalen Hurts. We could look at lot like the 2013 Seahawks with a young quarterback and intimidating defense. I do think if we miss the playoffs this year though Zimmer should still keep his job.
