2015 Ticket

I went to the DMV to get my DL to renew but was unable to because I had a Fail to Appear in Court for a ticket on 1/16/15 (Driving without a license I was just 18 years old pulled over in FRESNO COUNTY). However, I got my License the following two weeks of the incident. In addition, I waited and waited on the ticket to appear at my doorstep never showed up. I was even proactive going to court to clear it early at the (Fresno Superior Court) and every time I went it never appeared at all. Now four years later it appears in MERCED County? How does this happen? What should I do? Should I fight something like this?
