Paul Mozur (of NY times) deliberately spreading lies and disinfo. The NBA censored players by banning them from taking a knee during the US national anthem to not offend conservatives. This certainly wasn't a sign they were "okay" with players or team officials "standing up to US police violence".

I don't really care much for this individual all that much but it just highlights the distortions and lies spread by "credible" Western media outlets. They use name regonition, normally from domestic coverage, to create an aura of credibly but in actuality they are just sinophobic rags spreading hatred and double standards. The quality of their reporters and reporting on China is just atrocious.

Paul has probably spent zero time trying to understand the situation between the NBA and "police violence" but he automatically assumed something that turned out to be completely false. Because in his mind " hurr America good: China bad durr". This is par for the course for NYT and frankly speaking contributes to Chinese all across the world being subjected to the same type of government abuses Paul virtue signals about being wrong and evil when he finds them in China. The hypocritical double standards are just insulting to anyone with an objective bone in their body.

Exactly, another severely retarded westerner who supports evil US regime change and misinformation but acts like he's got virtue left to signal.

The whole thing was so stupid. CCP literally did nothing, it was the Chinese fans starting a boycott.

Think about it for a moment, the stupid manager angered the Chinese fans so they started to boycott.

How is that censorship?

Nobody is pointing a gun at the guy's head to apologise or retract the statement. It was his choice to do so. If you offend your customer, you may lose your customer.

Free speech doesn't mean free from consequences. You don't go attacking someone and then scream censorship when they don't want to do business with you.

The stupidest thing is "China watchers" are calling for the US government to force the NBA to insult the Chinese even more. Government interference in US businesses is fine if it's to "contain" the "evil" "other" that necessitates the existence of these vultures. Those hurt in the process are just collateral damage.

This entire thing just shows that it has nothing to do with "freedom of speech" and everything to do with spreading sinophobic drivel to try to tear the US and China apart further. These people are just warmongering clowns.

American Exceptionalism, cognitive dissonance and racism.

I bet this guy still buys NBA souvenirs that are still made in China!

He owns his entire career to China too. This is what I don't get with the "China watcher" crowd. It is obvious that they hate and have a great contempt for China and Chinese people yet they somehow devote their entire professional career to covering the place and people only to smear them with retarded half truths and propoganda that does nothing but pander to the absolute worst people and elements of Western society.

Imagine if the tweet was "Trump is the best president USA has ever had" unironically, Americans would start a cancel campaign immediately. But no one gives a shit about how Chinese people feel, am I right?
