It Hurts So Good

Season Four

Watching the first two episodes, it really dawned on me how much the bad place really has it out for Eleanor.

She spent a whole life never feeling loved or loving, then a fake paradise with a soulmate who didn't love her time and time again until she and Chidi FINALLY realise it, to then believing that their relationship was predetermined and that their love wasn't real (episode where Michael shows Eleanor the memories of their time in the good place) because she was afraid to lose something she could never really fathom. She's then given the smallest shred of hope of being in the good place with Chidi as close as you could get to soulmates only for him to have his memory wiped.

The demons have successfully found a way to torture Eleanor every day, knowing she will always love Chidi and that he doesn't remember anything. It's so genius and evil and it hurts to watch because who doesn't want good things to finally fall into place for the best motherforking girl from Arizona?

(Also these episodes being my own personal hell probably is why her situation cuts so deeply)

Rant over.
