THIS “SEASON” ENDED. NEW ECONOMICS IS COMING. BRACE YOURSELVES

Hey there. MIB Lead Developer here. You all probably noticed that the bot doesn’t respond to any of the comments and that it is because it has been shut down. It has been shut down gracefully and we were planning to do it for several months now. The reason behind this is to only make it better.

You see, ME investing started in 2018 and it was implemented in a very straightforward and someone might say, too simple way. It was incredibly easy to play the game and get literally quintillions. Initially, we thought it would be fun, as users would get rich, it was simple, and users would stick with it. It happened and didn’t happen at the same time.

Bot saw a lot of traffic during the past 1.5 years. We have more than 100k registered users. Over 2 million investments and more. But, the new system was too easy to game, that big people continued to play (we are very happy with you, guys) and the small ones would stop because they would see the sheer amounts that other players withdraw and it kinda demotivates you.

We have been thinking about remodeling the system since Day 1. What we had, was built in mind for a handful of people (several hundreds) but it wasn’t really optimized for thousands. Because of this, we had to hot switch the algorithm for faster ones, change codebase, rewrite entire modules. Personally, I had no problem with that, I am a developer and that’s what we do. The problem started with the bot being unstable, development more difficult, maintenance costs higher, and we were bottlenecked by some of the tech stack we had.

For the past odd five or six months, I was developing a new replacement system. It’s not even as a replacement, as a new system as a whole. Investors still exist. Firms still exist. Badges still exist. Only investing works a bit differently. I a good way. It can ensure that the economics is stable. It works so that one user wouldn’t buy out whole markets and leave other with nothing. It would make sure that all people have a fair chance. And it will make big players are having fun as well.

We thought running the new system right after the old one would mix and mush the systems, this is where a lot of confusion can happen. And the bot started misbehaving dangerously, I took this as a sign and ME mods and I decided to shut it down. It’s been in the air for months now, so hopefully we didn’t surprise anyone too much. All users, mods, and the system itself will get a break. Have a life!

All users in this season, top users, and top firms will get a badge in the new system. This is the least we can do at the moment to thank you all for participating in the ME markets! More to come soon. All your existing badges will transfer as well. Note that balances will be reset to make economics stable and give a fair chance to everyone.
