Does anyone else get upset when you put alot of effort into doing or creating something, show it to people , and they end up being impressed, but not with the thing you hoped they would be impressed by? Is there a specific word for this feeling?

for example, you work very hard on creating a detailed, labour intensive drawing and then show it to your friends who say "cool drawing, but where did you get this amazing paper from?!"

This is like "wow beautiful photo, your camera may be really good"

Exactly. That is a great example of what I was trying to explain.

In the title of your question

You literally said

Is there a specific word for that?

And when someone links to a resource that can help you

Nah mate that's not what I really wanted

I said that I wasn't only looking for the word. that was only one part of my post. And I also clearly said thanks.

So posting to a subreddit to find the word would help in part, wouldn't it?

Disappointment?

Yes I still hold a stupid grudge too. There was this cake I made in 5th grade for this cake baking contest I made it look like my dog and it had a speech bubble it said "woof". One person commented "how cute is that the name of this creature?"

I just remember thinking "stupid idiot, it's a dog and dogs say woof! How can someone not know dogs say woof!"

Also I didn't even win anything and the winning cake was just a stupid normal cake too.

Yeah I work out a lot and what I consider my problem areas are the ones people always compliment. The areas I feel I'm best at always get overlooked. It's frustrating.

I think it's disappointment mixed with indignation from being undervalued.
