This is just him excusing his laziness with whataboutism.

Just because lots of things suck doesn't mean people shouldn't care about specific things that suck.

Not surprising for Asmon, but it's not smart.

He used the old "if you can't fix everything you might as well not fix anything" logic. Imagine if police thought like that. "Well, we can't possibly stop ALL crimes that happen so why even bother?"

He is fucking wrong. This is lazy asmon at his worst.

I never mind his opinions when it comes to stuff like game design, twitch drama, etc because for the most part it’s harmless and has no real world impact.

But this stuff is concerning considering his audience, I know asmon is a big fan of “I shouldn’t be responsible for what my fans do because of what I say” but he really needs to realize that he can offer his opinion but at the same time admit this topic is extremely complex and can not be boiled down to metaphors for twitch chat

I like asmon, but it really shows he doesnt have alot of experience outside his bubble. I grew up a couple hours outside of ATX and as much as love The Great State Of Texas, leaving was very beneficial for my knowledge of the world. There are plenty of companies out there that avoid the behavior he talks about. Not only that, personally, I dont expect people to quit working at blizz, but a strike sends a message. The effectiveness would depend on the amount of people able to take up the burden and those willing to take up the burden.

This is complete bullshit because there are companies that do try to ethically source their products both actively and inactively, because surprise, buying from an ethical country usually means there is quality control in the product you are buying. I work for a company that actively avoids not only manufacturers from shitholes like China, but will look into their supply chain to see where the materials come from.

I work for a company who's been recently having some of its product manufactured in a 3rd world country and the difference in quality is staggering. I get what he's saying, but in my experience, management isn't going to listen when the product simply costs the company less to manufacture (even with an increase in QC/warranty issues) outside of the US and lead times are still able to be met. He's naive if he thinks an employee "speaking up" about how unethical the practices are is going to lead to anything other than the employee getting fired and replaced by someone who won't bitch as much (there are PLENTY of these out there scouting for jobs on the daily).

It's funny how HIS Subreddit is filled with the biggest haters of him. Always funny to read the comments here

Point out an example. All I see is people disagreeing with asmon’s point of view and sharing their own point of view from their experiences in this thread.

Disagreement≠hate. Just because someone doesn't agree with something doesn't mean they hate it.
