Should I wait for the DD-8?

So I'm finally at a place in my life where I can afford to build a board and I've been dying to get a delay pedal.

Just when I was ready to get a DD-7, Boss announces the DD-8. But it doesn't seem to be available until mid November. The extra features seem nice but it is a little bit more expensive.

Should I just get a DD-7 or maybe spend the extra money on a DD-200? Maybe a different brand altogether?

guess it depends on whether or not you want the extra modes that are in the dd-8.

dd-7's a really solid first delay. the other thing to think about is how many used dd-7s are going to hit the shelves after the dd-8 comes out. if you wait, you could probably get one for even cheaper.

Judging by the number of used Boss Katana Mk1s I've seen in the past couple of days I'd say this is a pretty good strategy.

My DD-7 has been on my board since they were first released. The price these go for used is well worth it; this is a great digital delay. I'm all about the modulation setting on it. And as pointed out in another response, there's going to be a lot of us moving into a DD-8 and probably finally pulling the DD-7 off the board. I also think that should cause used prices to go down a bit.

I love the modulation mode on the DD7. I was not able to get the DD500 to emulate it. I'd be wary that the DD8 is a stripped down DD500/200 rather than an upgraded dd7.

Yeah, I'm definitely waiting for some more "real" demos of the pedal before I pull any triggers. Pending the release price (and actually tones) of the DD-8, I'm really seeing a Specular Tempus in my future.

Got the DD-200 a few weeks ago and I can very highly recommend it, for what it's worth. Used to have the DD-7- a very solid foundational delay.

I'd get a Jojo D-Seed and wait for the DD-8.
