ASSASSIN’S CREED MARATHON MEGATHREAD & FAQ

Here are some questions that you might have regarding the Assassin’s Creed Marathon. If there’s anything else you’re interested, ask it in the comments and we’ll add it to the list!

WHAT IS THE MARATHON / HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Assassin’s Creed Marathon is an annual event on r/assassinscreed, where fans of the series replay the games together, one sequence at a time. Every day we play roughly one memory sequence of an Assassin’s Creed title, then talk about it in a daily discussion thread.

The daily threads that are posted include other content as well, such as live streams, featured videos, official wallpapers and fanart. Active participants of the Marathon are entered into a giveaway, with a chance to win Assassin’s Creed-related prizes.

HOW DO I TAKE PART? DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR ANYTHING?

Participating in the Marathon is easy and straightforward. Simply play the sequence of the day, then jump on Reddit to discuss it with others. That's all.

Unable to play a certain sequence or game?

A team of Marathon streamers broadcast their playthroughs daily on Twitch and YouTube, and are featured in daily threads alongside links to recorded playthroughs, so you'll always be up to speed, ready to partake in discussions.

GIVEAWAY

This year we are giving away a set of prizes.
These include a copy of the new Essential Guide, a digital copy of Assassin's Creed Odyssey Gold for the platform of your choice and an Art Commission done by NightFell

A total of three winners will be picked, each will get a copy of the new Essential Guide, Odyssey Gold and an Art Commission based on these constraints:
First Prize: One full color digital, single character, Full body portrait
Second & Third Prize: One sketch digital, single character bust/half-body portrait

Please note: Winners can choose a single character from the AC franchise or their own personal AC-inspired original characters. Please note the prizes will not include detail rendered backgrounds. Since the work will be custom made, please allow 3-4 weeks for prize completion from start to finish. It’s very likely the art will be completed sooner, but patience is appreciated nevertheless.

To be eligible for this year's giveaway, you must comment on at least 42 total threads across all games, including one thread from each game (DLCs don't count as a separate game, Liberation does). Replies to other comments count as well. Engaging in discussion with other users is strongly encouraged!

Your account must be older than the Day 01 post of this year's Marathon and you will have to confirm your participation at the end of the Marathon by commenting on the final thread.

Extremely low-effort comments may lead to exclusion from the giveaway (if your comment fits in a Tweet, it's too short).

Special thanks to the Assassin's Creed ComDevs from Ubisoft for providing copies of the Essential Guide and Assassin's Creed Odyssey and making the giveaway possible.

WHO ORGANIZES THE MARATHON?

The Marathon is organized and run by a team of Assassin's Creed fans and users of r/assassinscreed, including a few subreddit moderators. You can recognize Marathon staff members if they're using a golden Marathon crest (winged emblem) on the subreddit.
