I think I finally found a hobby I won't quit after a month or two...

Success/Celebration

MY HAIR!!!

When I was a little girl, I had what my mother would lovingly call "Shirley Temple curls". She always talked about it wistfully though because as I got older my hair got "straighter". She had straight hair herself, so she never knew how to care for my hair and in turn never taught me. My hair spiralled into a terrible mess that was handled as though it was straight hair.

Over the last year, I've really dived into the curly girl hair method. I've stopped using heat on my hair and have meticulously researched care for wavy hair (which is what I have now as an adult!) and since then my hair has gotten wavier and softer. I've now started to be able to wear it natural to work with as little product in it as possible and have gotten tons of compliments.

Ive taken up cooking, sewing, tried quilting for a hot minute, Dungeons and Dragons, and so many other things that I abandoned after a while because it got boring for me. But there's this wonderfully soothing self care aspect to taming my hair every day and setting it up for success that I genuinely dont think I'll ever get bored of. I'm so glad to have finally found a hobby that will stick for the long haul!!!
