If a player sends the same comms wheel message four times in a row in under a minute, he's silenced on that message for the rest of the game.
For the time being, once it gets to the tenth repetition of 'set a smoke screen' I just quit back to port rather than put up with it.

I think you need to calm down. It's really not that big of a deal. This sounds like a personal issue more than a game issue. I spam the "defend the base" message all the time because everyone ignores it when we are being capped. That's my prerogative to do that.
Honestly I agree that there needs to be some way of reducing the wheel spam. It's one thing pinging to make people aware, another when it's literally just to hurt player's ears. The wheel is already pretty useless, don't let it be something that's purely an annoyance.
It does annoy me when some twat keeps repeating "smoke screen" and there are no friendly DDs left in play. But then I am a grumpy old man.
Guess I'm chat banned then. If a DD pops up then I promise that cunt is getting spammed
