The basics?

Since I've stopped being a part of thew circus, I am recalling more and more of previously repressed opinions and one thing I've figured out is WT is rejecting all the basic things about Christianity.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged." - Nah we're good, we're gonna make judging into a policy.

"Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." - Nah we're just going to punish people because we want to.

"If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?"

"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." - Nah, we're not going to provide any material help while living in houses worth 3 million pounds. Spiritual food is the most important meal of the day. About that salary thing - well maybe pray about it, I dunno, it might work, whatever man.

"But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven." - Nah, we're gonna pretend Geoffrey Jackson and Gerrit Losch are just random workers at Bethel when we need to. Standing up for the truth? That's not for the HQ people, the torture and dying thing it's for rank and file. HQ gets beamed up painlessly directly onto those angelic horses right from their private offices.

"Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." - Nah we're just going to demonise government and the people who protect and help us.

"Dear children, keep yourselves from idols." - Nah, that jworg tie and cufflinks are cute.

"Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." - Nah let's have elders sit whole night in a car to see if someone did spend a night in another person's home.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal." - Nah let's buy some property and invest in stocks, that's just how the world works now, what does God Almighty thinks he knows about life?

At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or, 'Look, there he is!' do not believe it. - Nah, let's make explicit predictions and build a fucking house for Moses based off that.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law--justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. - Nah, let's instruct people what pants they can wear while allowing people to be thrown onto the street after being DF'd, those sinful heathens deserve what they've got, something something Jesus is love Jesus is the way.

In all of the above it seems like a principle WT is following is "all these rules are for individuals. We appoint ourselves as guardians of the doctrine and therefore we have the right to do the exact opposite because someone's gotta be the sheriff in this town and who if not we are best suited for the job". Something Jesus repeatedly pointed out in the first century - people who act as enforcers of will of God are going to end up being sadistic wannabe emperors of their little dysfunctional realms. WT missed the ACTUAL FUCKING PLOT OF THE NEW TESTAMENT.
