bbc.comThere is an entire world of animation above this one popular Netflix show.

Of course but I don't see how it's relevant to this post

I prefer The Venture Bros myself.
1†
Of course you do
3
Ummm did you forget about sym-bionic titan
-4†
i think eveyone but you, me, and genndy have forgotten our favorite alien robot friends. but ya i agree its better than bojack.
1
Are you asking OP or BBC?
0†
Love BoJack, but that title - for me, at least - belongs to Gravity Falls.
-4†
Jesus Christ we are talking about shows for adults here. Nobody said bojack is the best animated show for children
5
Rick and Morty is funnier and harder to make.
Bojack's middle-aged drama is well-worn ground.

In what sense is Rick and Morty harder to make?

To be fair...

If southpark or Rick and Morty doesnt take a giant whopping shit on this show then I dont know anything I guess.

This is a far better show than Rick and Morty. South Park more debatable and depends on what you enjoy more, both wonderful.

Speaking as a fan of both Bojack and Rick and Morty, that's like comparing apples and oranges. I watch the two shows for two different reasons. Both are excellent in their own way, imo.

I recognize this is a reference. Can’t for the life of me remember what from

South Park is definitely one of the best animated shows of all time. Second to the Simpsons imo. But I do think the last few seasons haven't been to good. Bojack is much better than the last couple seasons of South Park.

Season one was okay. It is shit now. Complete trash.
-17
Season 1 was the weakest for sure. The show has developed and spiralled into a masterpiece as Time has moved on. Season 5 was a different level
22
That's mostly everyone's opposite opinion.
10
It seemed like at least they gave a small tiny attempt at humor in the first season.

Rick and Morty
Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft. I love Rick and Morty but the writing doesn't even come close to the writing of Bojack Horseman. I could see the argument that RnM gets more laughs, but Bojack Horseman mountains more depth in its themes, ideas, and subject matter.

Comedy is harder to write than drama.

Guess you don't know anything, then. Comedy is pretty debatable and massively up to personal taste, so I can't argue which one is "funniest" - but Bojack has by far the best acting (yes voice acting is acting), by far the best dialogue and plot direction (south park only has a very loose plot), and by far the deepest evaluations of its subject matter.
South Park is a brilliant satire of whichever thing it aims to tackle each episode, but it's not providing philosophical wonder and very rarely actually makes people think. It's just funny. And it's very very very well done funny, but it very rarely goes beyond funny (even in episodes where it makes a strong point, it's not often trying to make people reconsider or evaluate their thinking).
Rick and Morty is just...maybe it's just me, but it feels awfully like a show that's trying to be smarter than it is to appeal to the scifi crowd.

Lul no bojack is pandering as fuck.
-1†
Who in the shit does Bojack pander to?
1
South Park started in the 90s to be fair
3
Back in the 90s
6
Hahahaha
Oh wait, you were serious.
2†
Let me laugh even harder.
AHAHAHAHAHA!

I've never seen a show with such a brilliantly executed blend of satire, silly humor, visual gags, and character drama while also tackling controversial subjects such as feminism, gun control, depression, self-destruction...Let alone an animated show.
South Park, Rick and Morty, Futurama, are all great, I love em all. But none of them have the depth, rewatchability, and especially relatability as Bojack Horseman.
