“You’re not pregnant, surprise!!”
Meanwhile I am over here like can we please just get Spooky pregnant
I just found out today that our friends who JUST STARTED TRYING are pregnant.
The above is a picture of me.
This is amazing! Where do you find this stuff? It’s perfect.
Every day, Spooks. Every day.
She’s me! I’m in that box!
We were interacting on here a few months back. I’ve since had 3 chemical pregnancies and been diagnosed with likely antiphospholipid syndrome. Feeling your pain!
There might be a special circle of hell for the woman who thought gender reveals should be a thing.

Apparently she regrets it... but not for the same reasons we hate them.
I appreciate that she has changed her tune, though.
Agreed
Eh, thats one of the reasons I hate them.
I mean... I guess I get why it sucks when we aren't pregnant....But why is it such a terrible thing? I want to have one but on a more intimate level my parents, partner, myself and a few select friends (I am basically the only childless one, there are a couple others who never wanted kids though).
I don't do social media so maybe that is where the disconnect comes for me. I would be delighted to see any of you ladies with a reveal story.
I know this is going to be unpopular in some ways but here goes. I think it’s the worst kind of showiness that can possibly be shared on social media or otherwise. Showiness is basically why social media was invented— look at my new car! Look at my awesome vacation! Look at this delicious meal I’m eating!— but to some extent, anyone can have those things. The ability to create and nurture a child is one of our most basic instincts beyond our own survival needs. We are hardwired to want to procreate. There will be people who, no matter how much desire they have in their heart, can NEVER accomplish that goal. And it’s devastating. I would never want to be the cause of someone’s misery.
I get where you are coming from, from a social media stance. I am old, so social media isn't my thing.
I also think people are careless and don't look past their own nose on social media. I mean I did try but didn't really dig it.
However, I guess for me I love having reasons to celebrate. I go big just for my dogs birthdays or at Christmas. So, I plan to go big if ibget pregnant. To me though, going big is for me and my partner. Not for the world or social media. I know how badly it can hurt. I got on Facebook for 10 seconds and it was pregnancy announcements, was like a bloody punch to the gut. I use Facebook messenger because I can't get my mom to figure out other apps on her phone. So, I get your understanding. People who show off are obnoxious...People use social media to make their lives look better than they are.
I guess how I always imagined my reveal would be no different from birthdays. If that makes sense? Are you against reveals or people showing off on the internet?
I agree with this. I don’t see the harm! I think finding out the sex is an exciting moment in a pregnancy and I plan to do a small gender reveal as well when it’s finally my turn. No big party or anything but just a special moment with very close friends and family who are also excited to find out. This doesn’t mean we will force any gender roles on the future baby, just celebrating the sex!
Nothing wrong with celebrating milestones! Lord knows if I get pregnant nearly everyday will be a wooo!
