Disneyland Scam

Petty

My girlfriend was going to DapperDay at Disney with some friends. I didn't want to go, mostly because I couldn't until 6p. However, she kept bringing it up so I decided I was going to surprise her and just show up later that evening.

I didn't want to pay full price for a ticket that I'd only be using for a couple hours. So I headed to Craigslist, never had a bad experience on there (said no one ever). I find a legitimate seller, willing to meet at the park, in fact he's an employee, and I'm getting a pretty good deal. Nothing about this whole transaction seemed suspicious, expect that at the last minute he couldn't meet at the park. So I met at his house.

Get to the park, scan ticket to get in, and a giant red light goes off on the machine. Disney employee is like, "this ticket has been used already". I'm pissed. So I call the guy, which he told me to do if I had any trouble. No response.

In the end I buy a ticket to get in. It was there at the happiest place on earth that I hatched my revenge.

I decided to put out a Craigslist Ad of my own. I gave the name of the guy who sold me ticket, along with his phone # and address. The ad was along the lines of M-M looking for fun. I said I worked at disney, gave my favorite character and movie too. I also said what I'm into, like really into ;)) and to send me pics of what you're packing.

I refreshed that ad every month for 3 months.

Used to work with their fraud department. There’s tickets that have been sold upwards of 150 times.

I can pretty much guarantee you the guy doesn’t work for the park :(

Anyone trying to buy a ticket for DLR off of CL is a moron.

Someone once told me they bought it from some abandoned house near LAX cash only and they had to like go at a certain time of night

I was like how did ANY of this sound remotely legit

"Leave the money in the hollow of the oak tree out by the cemetery, the ticket will be in an unmarked locker at the Greyhound bus station"

"Sounds legit"

I don’t think that’s pivotal to the source of revenge.

I wonder if that's really his house? Seems really dumb on his part if it is lol.

You bought a ticket on craigslist? So I have this bridge you may be interested in.

Setting someone up to be sexually harassed is never an appropriate revenge :(

Scamming people and expecting an appropriate response from them is never appropriate.

Yes you are right. But there are a lot of People who lose their shit when scammed. Do not scam but if you do be prepared for the fall out.

I just wish we lived in a world where "sexual harassment" wasn't even considered for revenge. Like, dude could have posted an add for a cheap car, or game system, or whatever, and gotten him similarly harassed. But why add the sexual component? If it's not ok when it happens to women, it's not ok when it happens to anyone.
