Looking for suggestions for great classic country western music, like Gene Autry era
We have a friend from our church, a retired doctor with not a whole lot of family in the area, who was recently attacked and beaten with a crowbar. They shattered his pelvis, bashed his head, etc, robbed him. Anyway, he temporarily lost his memory and has been laid up in a nursing facility for several months after having surgery, so he's still in a world of pain. And he will be laid up there for several more months. He's an older guy, about 70… just a total class act, but very modest. He tells us he loves classic country and western music so we picked up an MP3 player for him and would like to fill it but don't quite know where to start. I figured I could ask some corner of Reddit, and found this sub. Anyway, if you have an recommendations, I appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

This list seems to line up fairly well with Gene Autrey. Bob Wills would be another one to add from that era.
Thank you, this is amazing!
Include Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, etc.
