Need help choosing a netbook for a gift for my wife.
My wife is working on learning Android development. One of the best times to do this is on her lunch hour at work. However, she cannot install software on her work machine, so I would like to get her something she can use to have some coding fun on her lunch hour. I have about $300 to spend for this, as it's not really anything we need, so I can only spend money I have saved up on it (not family money).
She already has a kick ass laptop, but taking it o work isn't an option. Between the suitcase she calls a purse, and her lunchbox, she's already overloaded. A netbook that could fit in her purse though would be perfect.
It doesn't need to be an awesome machine, but it does need to meet the following requirements: 1: must run windows 2: must be capable of running eclipse and the android emulator 3: must be small I think 11 inches would really be max). 4: should be relatively light 5: should be able to run full development (compile, debug etc.) for at least an hour on included battery,
I can read all about the netbook specs, but knowing if she can actually develop on it is another story. I'm really hoping reddit can help me out here. Suggestions appreciated.
Remember, she already has a kick-ass laptop. If she had any interest in carrying the beast to work, she'd be doing it already.
