Music that transcends language.

Is it uncommon to listen to music where you can't understand the lyrics because they're in another language? I've found that I really enjoy certain bands, despite not being able to understand them. I suppose that good music transcends language. I also like being able to make up my own narrative based on the overall sound and feel of a song.
