How to decorate grad cap?

Hey! For the grad cap, what are its dimensions so I can make a cardboard print to put on top?
I am taking my grad pics in November and I am borrowing my photographer's cap and gown, so I will not have my own to use for the pic.

Any other grad advice is welcome, too!

Thanks (:
