Want to upgrade my monitor - need some advice
Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my monitor and have a few models I'm looking at. I don't have a true racing rig, but use a logitech G920 kit and a 23" monitor. My main use are my racing sims (PC2, AC, and Dirt Rally 2.0 when I want to hate myself) and some RPGs. I also do photo-editing and occasionally watch sporting events or TV.
The few I'm looking at now are the following:
Acer - XG270HU
Dell - 27" LED QHD (S2716DGR)
Dell - 32" LED Curved QHD FreeSync Monitor with HDR (S3220DGF)
The first two look nominally the same to me, although the Acer is about half the weight and looks to be about 1/4 or the power draw. They are currently about the same price at BestBuy, though the Dell is already a "Black Friday" item and marked down from $599. Is it a "buy now" because of the apparent savings or was the Acer a good buy all along, anyway? I don't know how to tell.
The 32" Dell is a curiosity for me at this point - it looks interesting and is priced well for me but I also don't have a feel for size and am not sure if 32" is just kind of too big.
My current system uses a Geforce GTX 980Ti (6Gb), with an Intel i5-4690 CPU @ 3.50GHz and 32.0 Gb installed RAM.
Thoughts on any of these a standout compared to the others (they are all priced fairly closely to each other)? Are there are any others I really should be considering? My budget is $300-350 (US).
Thanks for reading!
